Many gamers have their own personal genres of games that they find more entertaining. Well, this is a game that really doesn't fit in to an actual full genre.
Navyfield finds many of its more dedicated players and actual successful players to be around the age of 28+. This is most likely due to the dedication that the gamer has to give to take the time to learn everything that has to be known about the game to get to the level where they can do things quickly and efficiently.
To be quite honest, Navyfield is 'not' for the faint of heart, or those who just play a game for fun. Without actually dedicating time to it, the only fun you would be having is getting the new record of how many times you can sink in an hour.
Navyfield is not one of the games where you become powerful in a day, a week, a month, or even sometimes a year. Many of the players that have got any good at the game have played for years. The real part of the game that keeps many young players out of the lineup is that you must constantly adapt to the battle, stay alive, sink enemy ships, avoid tor****es and bombers, and manage to get past the first few minutes without getting pwned. Any user that has played the game for a while can do this with a decent amount of ability, however mastering it takes months of practice.
Not only are you focused on all of the above, but as you progress you will be recruiting new sailors, leveling up old ones, choosing their paths on the speciality tree, and planning ahead for new ships.
For many younger gamers, keeping track of all this is hard, if not impossible.

Past the gamers skill and adaptability, the game is an amazing blend of tactical movement, strategy, and firepower. Various ships from the smallest FF (Frigate) to the massive and powerful BB's of each nation bring new challenges for each tier. Mastering each ships size, piloting, and gunnery is key to any sort of victory whatsoever.

Ship Classes are: FF, DD, CL, CA, CV, BB, SS, APA

Each nation has their own line past FF, with 4 nations; US, UK, IJN, and KM

1> United States
2> United Kingdom
3> Japan (Imperial Japanese Navy)
4> Germany (Kreigsmarine)

# of Ships per Tier Per Class of each nation:

US> DD: 4, CL: 5, CA: 4, CV: 7, BB: 13, SS: 3, APA: 1
UK> DD: 3, CL: 4, CA: 3, CV: 8, BB: 12, SS: 3, APA: 1
IJN> DD: 6, CL: 5, CA: 3, CV: 15, BB: 9, SS: 3, APA: 1
KM> DD: 4, CL: 4, CA: 4, CV: 6, BB: 11, SS: 3, APA: 1
